Our latest Podcast – The Subterranean Ball, is based on a little known event at a Mine in Gosforth Newcastle, owned by the Reverend Ralph Henry Brandling ‘A genuine English Country Gentleman’. After searching for coal for four years they eventually dug deep enough to find a suitable seam. To celebrate the event, the Reverend held a ball underground for workers, their families and the local gentry. This podcast is the Hive Storytellers interpretation of what may have happen.

A visit of the Hive Storytellers to the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle in September 2024 to see the Turner exhibition inspired our group to create stories based on art in the gallery and other art in the North East.
