The Storytellers have their roots in audio drama, and we are please to be able to podcast the first drama we performed script in hand, at St Hilda’s Pithead to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the pit disaster.

The introduction on the programme for the performance tells us a little more. Award-winning author Lorna Windham, working with Community Arts Project North East, has taken the St Hilda’s Pit disaster as an inspiration and created an audio play based on fact but is a fictionalised account. This moving drama will be performed by an amateur community cast who are part of The Hive Storytellers Audio Drama Group.
